Made Your Resolutions? Let's Make Them Happen!

I hope you are still high on the New Year energy of change.  For a business owner or even an employee, using this time of newness to make needed changes and reach out for big goals is a smart move.  We have heard that most people fail to keep their resolutions and also that it is really hard to keep focused on your New Year’s Intentions.  Well maybe so, but let’s look at a way we can make keep our resolutions very practical and doable.

Before I share my system, I want to give a huge shout out to James Clear, who wrote the amazing book “Atomic Habits”. He is currently running a free 30-day challenge and it might be a good idea to jump in on it, if you are serious about making some movement. He is in favor of creating habits instead of goals, correctly postulating that if we have established the habit of eating lean and healthy food that we will easily and naturally lose weight. Focusing on the doable small habits instead of the big goal forces us to get practical and take action on our intentions, which is a big part what most people miss.

Today I am sharing with you a goal-setting system that you can use to create habits (as I did and explain in my video) or just regular goals. If you go to the video, you will get a link to the New Year’s Resolutions worksheet that you can download and fill out for your own Resolutions. Or you can download it here: NYR Worksheet.

The fundamentals are:

  • What is the resolution, goal or habit?

  • What is my why?

  • What are my weekly mini-goals?

  • What are my monthly mini-goals?

I challenge you to take some time to do this with your Resolution and respond to this email with your experience.  I’ll tell you doing this worksheet has made a difference for me.
